Thank you. It’s really hard taking pictures of possums because they only come out at night and quite often their eyes come out all red and blurred. These aren’t too bad but we were lucky he wasn’t too camera shy.
I’ve heard stories of people being chased by possums (I think there are similar stories in UK but with mad stoats) and have been warned not to startle them when you’re standing close as they have a tendancy to shoot up the nearest object for safety, i.e. you; never seen it happen though. This one was very friendly. I’ve also been warned not to touch them as someone at work did this and got absolutely covered in ticks, allegedly.

Nasty! Yeah, I think they can often get infected and take a while to heal if you don’t get all the of the spike out. I hope yours clears up quickly.

i was purning my date palm yesterday and got spiked between my ring finger and little finger. It BLED so much. Now my little finger is black and blue and so is the area around my knukle. Hopefully it will go down.
It bloody hurt and still does. Might have to go to the Dr.

Thanks Fisher, it could well be a blind shark. It looks very similar also. My pictures aren’t that good though so it’s difficult to compare accurately.
